Kisan Arts, Commerce and Science College, Parola is run by Kisan Vidya Prasark Sanstha. The president of the Sanstha is Hon’ble Annasaheb Dr. Satish B. Patil (MLA, Former Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra) the renowned educationalist in the North Maharashtra. The directors and office bearers of the sanstha are highly qualified and with educationist view. The motto of the College is "तेजो सि s ,तेजो म s देही !" meant God please give me a light to shine and strength for good. This can be achieved by imparting value based education to the students.
Parola is a Tehsil place in the Jalgaon district, a rural place situated 55 kms away from Jalgaon. The Parola town takes pride in its rich history and heritage of having underground fort named as Bhuikot Killa (Land Laying Fort), as well as the inspirational memory of Rani Laxmibai, the queen of Jhansi. It also takes pride of having the holy places nearby for Lord Balaji as a Prati Tirupati, Tapovan, Shivdham, Nageshwar, etc
Most of the people from this place belong to farming and farm working families. Most of the students are the first generation from their families, who avail the facility of higher education. The students from such poor families do not afford the higher education at district place. Keeping this view in mind, founder President Late Appsaheb Bhaskarrao Rajaram Patil (MLA), enlightened the lamp of education to serve the society by establishing Kisan Vidya Prasarak Santha (KVPS) and Kisan Junior College in 1976. KVP’S provided the facility of Higher Education by opening Kisan Arts and Commerce Senior College in 1977 and Science stream in June 1992, B.Voc in 2014, recognition of Geography research laboratory in 2010 and Chemistry in 2013. The institute is committed to provide the quality of Higher Education of all the section of Society at the very low cost.
The Institution enjoys the distinct position of being the first Arts, Commerce and Science College in Tehsil region. College give stress on special attention to bring rural students in the stream of higher education. College have been accredited and conferred with the C+ grade in academic year 2004-2005 by NAAC. The college is permanently affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and included by UGC into 2(f) and 12(B) act 1956.
The College offers U.G. programme in B.A., B. Com., B.Sc. and Skill based Programme B.Voc. In the B.A. programme English, Marathi, Hindi, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics are taught at Special level. In the Science programme Chemistry and Zoology are the special subject and Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Geography, Computer science Marathi, English are taught as general subjects. Under the B. Voc. degree programme Software Development and Soil water Conservation are the special courses. The academic courses meet the demands of the students and prepare the students to contribute to nation building and to meet global challenges
Admissions are granted on the come first serve first basis as per the University rules and reservation policy is strictly followed. The College maintains complete transparency in the admission process and does not accept any donation. Institution has extension units NSS and NCC. The selection in NCC is based on Physical fitness test and in NSS is done by devotion and interest of the candidates in social welfare activities
The college vibrant work culture and holistic approach to education is encouraged. Among the faculties 12 are Ph. D. and 12 are M. Phil. and others are engaged in doing research work. In addition to this 2 faculties are recognized research guides by North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. The faculties adopt the regular lecture method, teaching-learning process is enriched through interactive sessions, projects, ICT enabled teaching, field visits and survey, etc. The staff members regularly update their knowledge and skills by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, refresher courses, orientation programmes, etc. The college has taken initiatives to promote research culture. The institution has established linkages with the other institutes and industry. The College also encourages non-teaching staff to update their knowledge by attending workshops, seminars, etc.
The students progress is monitored through regular class tests, tutorials. Regular feedback about teaching-learning process is obtained for taking quality enhancement initiatives. The results stand testimony to the emphasis laid on effective teaching and learning processes. The College is grooming the students to be realistic and aware of their social responsibilities. The simultaneous development of the intellectual, physical, cultural and faculties of the students is achieved through various academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The students participate enthusiastically and excel in sports and cultural activities. Extension activities are carried out through NCC, NSS, Student Welfare Department, Red Ribbon Club, Life Long Learning and Yuwati Sabha units of the college. The College has Placement and Career and Counselling Cell to make available the employment opportunities, Sports Department to develop the sports culture, Grievance Redressal Cell and Sexual Harassment Cell of the college ensure gender and social equity and provide help, support and guidance whenever required. The College runs Karmveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn Scheme for the financially weaker students, to learn with pride and to inculcate the work culture among the students
